FAQ’s

How long does a coaching session last?

Approximately one hour.  However, there is no set time limit.

How many sessions are recommended?

Three are recommended. But you will usually begin to notice results after the first session.

Will  I be put to sleep during my coaching/hypnotherapy session?

No.  Coaching is like any other conversation that requires your full conscious awareness and  participation. Hypnosis is essentially a state of focused attention, not sleep.   By definition, light hypnosis occurs as a natural reaction during a session because you are focusing on the conversation. You remain awake, alert and in control.  You can end a session at any time and for any reason.

Will I remember what happens during a coaching session?

Yes.  The same as with any other conversation.

Can only weak-minded people be hypnotized?

No.  Effective hypnosis requires imagination and the ability to cooperate.  Intelligent, strong-willed people are the easiest to work with, since they can better apply themselves toward having a useful experience.

Can I get ‘stuck’ in hypnosis

No.  You can’t get ‘stuck’ in hypnosis any more than you can reading a good book, working on your taxes or doing anything that requires focused attention.

Will I say things I’d rather keep private?

No.  Hypnosis  isn’t a ‘truth serum’ or a lie detector.  You won’t reveal  personal information and you can’t be compelled to discuss any subject or do anything against your will.

Are the volunteers in a hypnosis stage show really hypnotized?

Yet, but this means only that they are intently focused on what the hypnotist is saying, not that they are under his control. Stage hypnotists are skilled in creating an illusion of being in control.  One way they do this is by selecting the most cooperative and uninhibited volunteers at the start of the show; the rest are sent back to their seats. So, although it may appear otherwise, the volunteers are going along with the hypnotist’s suggestions by choice, not because they are compelled to do so.

Is hypnotherapy the same as psychotherapy?

No.  Hypnotherapists are coaches or guides who utilize hypnotic techniques to assist people with normal issues of  daily living.  We do not diagnose or treat, cure or heal medical problems or mental health conditions.
